Meet Our Team

Re'Shawn has been an educator for over a decade, working as a teacher and school administrator before joining the BES Fellowship to bring a high-quality, free public charter school to Schenectady's students. BES is a non-profit organization that discovers and trains outstanding leaders to reform education in their communities.

Mashoma is a longtime operations leader - owning her own in-home childcare service. She has years experience as a district Secretary and is a mom of three. Mashoma is dedicated to the lifelong success of students and families in Schenectady. She has centered her life and career around supporting families who are most in need. Ms. B is most excited about ensuring that the school’s operations are tight so that every student is safe, nurtured, and loves school.

Alexis is a Founding School Counselor. She earned both her Bachelor's and Master's from The College of Saint Rose in Albany. Alexis has worked with children, Pk-8th grade for 6 years now at an after school program and a summer camp. Her passion for helping others in all contexts helped to push her into a counseling role. Alexis is most excited about creating meaningful relationships with students, parents, and the community. She is local to Schenectady and can not wait to be able to stay local in this new career.

Cherly is a skilled CPA with over 15 years of accounting expertise. Cherly holds a Master of Science in Accounting from St. Rose. Cherly is a mother who has been frustrated by a lack of educational possibilities for her children in her local town. She brings a wealth of resources, board experience, and a genuine desire to support community initiatives.

Raul is an accomplished Finance expert with over a decade of budgeting and strategic planning experience. Raul earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Siena College. Raul has benefited from educational opportunities geared at minority youth. He brings with him a strong desire to use his abilities and knowledge to help underserved communities.

Andrea is a career educator with over 30 years of experience, most notably as the Early Childhood Director at the Schenectady JCC. Andrea received her bachelor's degree in English from SUNY Buffalo and her master's degree in education from USC. Andrea believes that early childhood education and exposure to new experiences are vital to our children's long-term development.

Raysheea is a certified attorney who has spent the last several years of her legal career as a public defender, mentor, and, most recently, a partner in her own company, Wallace Turner Law LLP. Western New England University is where she received her J.D. Her extensive roots to the community of Schenectady, and her dedication to educational success is unshakeable.

Mark has 15 years of education management experience, including at Uncommon's Troy Preparatory Charter School and the Urban Assembly Academy of Government and Law. Mark earned his master's degree in political science from the University of Albany. Mark is dedicated to offering all kids with equal, high-quality educational opportunities.

Georgina R. Parsons grew up in Schenectady, New York, and attended Schenectady Public Schools. She attended Utica College after graduating from high school, where she earned a degree in Journalism and Sociology. Georgina began her charitable work with Girls Incorporated in the Greater Capital Region. She also worked for Trinity Alliance and contributed to Go Indie TV as a writer. Georgina remains involved in the community since she has over ten years of experience working with non-profits and community-based groups around the Capital Region. She is a writer and the Press Secretary for the New York State Senate Majority. 

Chrisheena has been an educator for more than 13 years. She graduated from Spelman College with a Bachelor's degree in English, a Master's degree in education from Canisius College, and a Master's degree in school leadership from Niagara University. She is the principal of KIPP Albany Community Charter School-Elementary Campus right now (ACCS). Her areas of expertise include culturally sensitive curricula and instructional leadership. Chrisheena is dedicated to provide all students with a rich educational experience that represents their culture and nurtures their talents and interests.

Ashley is a Social Worker with expertise working with children, adolescents, drug abuse/recovery, foster care, developmental disabilities, aging, small businesses/entrepreneurs, and other populations. Ashley earned her master's degree from the State University of New York's University at Albany. Ashley is passionate about expanding opportunity for vulnerable populations and organizations, particularly girls of color.
