Thank you for your interest in Destine Preparatory Charter School!

Completing this form indicates your intent to enroll your scholar(s) for the 2026–2027 school year.

Applications submitted by April 1, 2026, at 4:15 p.m. will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis unless a lottery is required. If applications exceed available seats in a grade level, a public lottery will be held at 530 Franklin Street, Schenectady, NY. Lottery details will be announced March 31, 2026 on our website and shared with applicants by email and/or mail.

Applications will continue to be accepted throughout the spring and summer to fill available seats.

Kindergarten Eligibility: Scholars must be 5 years old on or before December 1, 2026.

Please Note:

  • A separate application is required for each scholar.

  • Only fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required to submit an application.

  • Additional documents will be required to complete enrollment.

    Friday, February 27th from 5pm-6:30pm

    Saturday, March 7th from 11:00am-12:00pm & 1:00pm-2:00pm

    Additional FAQs for Open Houses:

    Do I have to attend an Open House to apply?
    No, but it’s highly encouraged so families can experience our culture firsthand.

    Can I bring my child?
    Absolutely. We love meeting our future scholars.

    What if I can’t attend the scheduled dates?
    Contact our Enrollment Team to schedule an alternative visit.

  • Monday-Thursday:

    Arrival: 7:25am-7:55am
    Dismissal: 3:45pm-4:10pm

    Fridays and Half Days:

    Arrival: 7-25am-7:55am
    Dismissal: 1pm-1:10pm

  • For Schenectady Residents:
    You must live more than a mile away from Destine Preparatory Charter School in order to qualify for transportation.

    For Out-of-District Residents (any district that is not Schenectady City School District):

    You must work with your home district to learn if the district will transport your scholar.

  • Students who live in temporary housing have protections and additional rights.

    The McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act is a federal law that discusses the public education of children and youth in temporary housing. Under McKinney-Vento and state law, students are considered to be in temporary housing if their nighttime residence is not fixed, regular, and adequate. Some examples of temporary housing include:

    • Sharing the housing of others due to loss of housing, economic hardship or other similar reason

    • Living in motels, hotels, trailer parks, camping grounds

    • Living in emergency or transitional shelters

    • Abandoned in hospitals

    • Living a in public or private place not designed for sleeping

    • Living in cars, parks, abandoned buildings, bus or train stations, etc.

    • Migratory living in circumstances described above
