Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)

At Destine Prep, social-emotional learning is at the heart of scholar growth. Our SEL program helps scholars develop key skills through our Core Values.

CORE VALUES

Responsible Decision-Making

Making thoughtful, positive choices.

Self-Awareness

Understanding emotions, strengths, and areas of growth.

Self-Management

Demonstrating focus, discipline, and perseverance.

Building Positive Relationships

Collaborating and communicating with respect.

Social Awareness

Showing empathy and respect for others and the community.

How we incorporate SEL:
SEL is embedded throughout the school day in lessons, classroom routines, peer interactions, and leadership opportunities. Scholars practice these skills in real-life situations, strengthening both academic success and personal growth.

Why this matters for parents:
Families play a critical role in reinforcing SEL at home. When parents understand and support these skills, scholars are more confident, socially aware, and prepared to handle challenges positively. SEL is not just a school initiative, it's a partnership between school and home to develop well-rounded leaders.

Weekly Panther Circle

Panther Circle is a dedicated time when our entire school community comes together to celebrate the achievements and growth of our scholars. During this time, scholars and staff engage in high-energy chants, recognize core values, and highlight positive contributions across the school.

Panther Circle reinforces a strong sense of belonging while keeping our culture consistent and focused. Teachers actively participate alongside their classes, helping to build an environment rooted in joy, pride, and accountability.

Families are warmly invited to attend, strengthening the connection between home and school. Through Panther Circle, we create a shared experience that celebrates success, builds community, and keeps our scholars motivated to rise.
